General Information
ABE Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) extinguishers are the most versatile and commonly used extinguishers in Australia. They provide fast knock-down performance and are safe for use on live electrical fires because DCP powder does not conduct electricity.
These extinguishers are ideal for environments with mixed fire risks, offering strong performance on flammable liquids, gases, and ordinary combustibles.
Where Not to Use
- Around sensitive electronics: Powder residue may be difficult to remove from delicate or hot components.
- Cooking oil & fat fires (Class F): Use a Wet Chemical extinguisher instead.
